I engaged Top Bridges' executive coaching sessions for gaining clarity in your personality & becoming an effective leader. As an introvert, managing relationships have always been a difficult task for me. The DISC personality assessment helps to identify my primary style, understands & equip me on how to have an effective relationship with different styles. Having not undergone any formal leadership training before & mostly taking notes & personally observing on the "how" & "what not" that a leader should behave in my volunteering & employment experiences prior to these sessions (without any guidance), the leadership challenge allows me to gain clarity on my current strengths & weaknesses & leadership styles. It clears the misconception of "I thought I am this style". Thus I have a clear direction on where I stand now & can further embark on my leadership journey as I step up to take on a leadership role. These help to act as a sanity check and benchmark as I practice to incorporate it in my daily life.

Derek, a student at a secondary school, wants to lead by example and show his peers how to be successful in life. However, he needs help. That's why he attended Top Bridges' leadership programme.


Our story began when a group of young leaders were empowered to manage their school's Co-Curricular Activity (CCA) and nurture the juniors in terms of their character development and technical skills. Based on their prior leadership training, they could impart essential life skills to the juniors. Additionally, one of the leaders was blessed to be equipped with more leadership knowledge and skills from his tertiary education. Together with the rest, they were able to customise a leadership curriculum for the juniors. The curriculum was well-received and appreciated by the juniors and teachers.


With our youth development programme that consists of evidence-based concepts, practical strategies and meaningful activities, he will develop into a stronger leader with ready skills for his team, studies or career success.

We emphasizes two significant elements of a great leader. The Character of a person forms the core fundamental block that supports the development of crucial Competencies for a leader. Timothy Stanton (1992) said, “I serve you in order that I may learn from you. You accept my service in order that you may teach me.” Youths who are involved in service learning programmes have shown positive gains on student achievement tests and gained higher self-esteem and self-efficacy.

Design thinking is about believing we can make a difference, and having an intentional process in order to get to new, relevant solutions that create positive impact. It has been applied in the public and private sectors to improve their services/products. Understanding of your clients is your starting point. Three key stages of design thinking is inspiration, ideation and implementation.

Emotional intelligence is the ability to perceive emotions; to access and generate emotions so as to assist thought; to understand emotions and emotional knowledge; and to reflectively regulate emotions so as to promote emotional and intellectual growth (Salovey & Mayer, 1999). Emotionally self-aware leaders can be candid and authentic, able to speak openly about their emotions and attuned to their inner signals.
